Tenants FAQs

Speak to your housing officer to ask for a mutual exchange application form.

You will need to complete a Mutual Exchange application form. This can be found at: https://www.homeswapper.co.uk/ You must be on an assured or secure tenancy to qualify for an exchange.

When we receive your completed application, your housing officer will contact you to arrange to inspect your property and discuss the exchange.

Normally, your tenancy agreement requires that you give us 4 weeks notice. If you have decided to leave us please contact us as we will need some details from you such as the reason for ending your tenancy and a forwarding address. Once the details have been discussed we will send you a letter confirming your tenancy end date and a jiffy bag to return your keys. It will also advise you of the date that your housing officer will visit to carry out an end of tenancy inspection.

Speak to your housing officer and request to complete a Pet permission form. Unfortunately, we are unable to allow the keeping of dogs and cats in blocks of flats with communal entrances.

It depends on the nature of the complaint. It is best dealt with over the telephone as we will need full details of the incident such as the exact date and time, contact details of any witnesses, etc. You can contact us or request a call back. There are some issues that we can not deal with, for example: - Children playing in their own gardens, play areas or streets unless they are causing damage. - Lifestyle Complaints such as flushing toilets, washing machines, vacuuming, babies crying etc.

If you are unhappy with the services we provide you can report your complaint on our website. Your complaint will be acknowledged within 2 working days.

Linc Cymru don’t carry out any pest control services. You need to contact your local council to arrange this. When they have eradicated the infestation, you can call our contractors and they will arrange to block up the access area. However, if you live in Newport & Blaenau Gwent, you will need to contact a private contractor as your local council don’t have a pest control officer. When they have eradicated the infestation, you can call our contractors and they will arrange to block up the access area.

We recommend that you try using a sink & drain cleaner in the first instance.

If this doesn’t work you’ll need to call us to make the payment over the telephone then we will arrange for a plumber to attend.

There is a £50 charge, to be paid in advance, before our contractors can attend to clear blockages. If we find that the blockage is no fault of your own, the £50 payment will be refunded to you.

We have a Self-Help scheme whereby Linc will contribute 50% of the cost, up to a maximum £500 towards the cost of home improvements. This does not include decoration. To apply for this scheme you’ll need to contact your maintenance officer with details of the work you wish to carry out, with an estimate of the costs. They will then contact you to confirm if we are able to assist.
