Linc Cymru has a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Chef at our Penylan House Nursing Home, Cardiff.
Your role will be in a busy kitchen which prepares delicious and nutritious meals for our residents, and sometimes their visitors too.
Mealtimes are important to our residents; they are a time to relax and enjoy the company of other residents, visitors and Linc staff – and you will be the smiling face when they visit the dining room.
What does this Assistant Chef job entail?
•Responsible for cooking daily fresh meals for our residents.
•In the absence of the Chef Manager, you will also lead the team to ensure consistently high standards of service and undertake general kitchen management duties no two days will be the same.
•You will be responsible for preparing and serving meals along with supporting the team to set up the dining room and with all aspects of meal preparations and the daily close down of the kitchen.
•Leading by example is key, so if you work in a ‘clean as you go’ way, this role will be perfect for you! Keeping the kitchen, dining room and equipment sparkly clean is important, so you’ll need to ensure that the team of Food
Service Assistants keep on top of daily tasks to maintain excellent quality food and customer service.
•With a dedicated Learning & Development team, we will ensure you have all the knowledge you need to succeed and excel in this role.
What you can expect from us:
•37.5 hours per week (Earliest start time 7:00am and latest finish 6:00pm. Typical shift will be 10:00am – 6:00pm)
•Hourly Pay: £10.16
•Every other weekend off
•Dedicated Learning & Development team to support with any training needs
•Free onsite parking
