Situated just outside of Caerphilly town centre, Abbeyfield House is a retirement home offering sheltered housing for older people. It has been adapted to accommodate the varying needs of later life. Our Victorian home has nine private en-suite rooms, including shower and toilet, and has been lovingly remodelled to provide sheltered housing in a family setting.

We recognise the massive role that food plays in the lives of our tenants, and strive to ensure that every mealtime is a positive and fulfilling experience. This role aims to develop a homely, welcoming, safe, and well managed environment for residents to live in and to be responsible for the meal services that are delivered in the house.

Other duties include:

  • To ensure the continuity of a meal service that is nutritious, provides a good variety, is well planned and caters for any dietary needs.
  • To support the work of the House Manager and/or the Deputy House Manager as directed

The successful candidate will enjoy working in a team and alone alike and have a positive attitude to supporting your colleagues and the tenants. They will also take pride in cleanliness and organisation on shift, understanding that Health and Safety and Food Safety are essential in the workplace. They must also be passionate about food and customer service and ideally have experience of working in a similar role.
