Science Behind The Design

Special features assist people with sensory or sight loss and dementia to access and enjoy all that our homes have to offer.

Linc Care worked closely with the Alzheimer’s Society and the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) Cymru in the design and layout of our homes. Simple alterations such as placing signs at eye level, using large prints for notices, choosing the right colour contrasts and lighting levels ensure that our residents have the best possible chance to maintain their independence and dignity.

We have taken advice from the Alzheimer’s Society with regards to the design of our wardrobes and bathrooms. The pictures used alongside signage provide a visual prompt. All rooms have nurse call bells and the connections for a variety of Telecare equipment such as fall sensors and pressure mats. Each room has an en-suite wet room with grab rails designed to enable private and dignified personal care with room for assistive equipment, safe lifting and support for those who are less mobile. Our fully adjustable nursing beds are thoughtfully designed to enable comfort and safety with style.
