Celebrating Caewern: A Community Mosaic Project
Through a series of free workshops at Caewern Community Centre, local people helped design and build a stunning mosaic inspired by the history of Caewern House, as well as the surrounding landmarks and landscapes that make the area unique. The finished artwork will be installed in the new housing development once construction is complete – a lasting celebration of local heritage and community spirit.
The mosaic project is part of our wider regeneration plans for the site, which will see 36 high-quality, affordable apartments built across three-storey apartment buildings, each containing six homes. The existing Caewern House had stood empty for some time, suffering extensive damage from vandalism and poor maintenance. In redeveloping the site, Linc aims to creating a vibrant, modern community for the future.
This mosaic will serve as a permanent reminder of the history of Caewern House and the creativity of the people who live here – a community-driven piece of art at the heart of a brand-new development.
