CIW Success for Ty Coch Nursing Home in Cardiff

Situated in Llanishen, north Cardiff, Ty Coch has been providing nursing care for more than 20 years – and the well-established service impressed the inspectors, who rate each service against set criteria; Wellbeing, Care & Support, Environment and Leadership & Management.

Some stand-out quotes from the inspection report commented on the relationships that have been forged between Linc Cymru care colleagues and the individuals they support.

CIW inspector said, “People are supported to make choices about their day-to-day care…Relationships between people and those who care for them is good…We observed positive and relaxed interactions.”

“We saw people look happy, well cared for and comfortable in the company of staff and uplifted by the support and care they received. Staff interactions with people are in a warm, caring and respectful.”

One resident recently spoken to about the home said, “Everyone here is so kind and supportive, and there's always something to look forward to each day. "

Jade shared that since the inspection, the team at Ty Coch have begun several initiatives, which they hope will further enrich individuals’ lives and result in even better outcomes. She said, “The success of our most recent enhancements will primarily be measured by listening to feedback from residents, their loved ones and the health professionals we work closely with day to day. Then when our next CIW inspection comes around, we will be proud to show the inspectors what we’ve been working on and how it has positively impacted the people we support.”
