Public Consultation: City Road
We are currently holding a public consultation for 'The Cascade', our proposed redevelopment of the former Riley's Snooker Club on City Road.
We are seeking the views of the local community as part of our public consultation and your comments and suggestions will help us to develop the proposals.
You can take part in our public consultation by visiting our website: The Cascade Public Consultation
We hope this website will provide a clear overview of our proposals.
Alternatively, come along to our consultation event:
Friday 13th September between 3-7pm
YMCA Plas (Plasnewydd Community Hall), 2 Shakespeare Street, Cardiff, CF24 3ES
This new development of flats has been designed to combat climate change, to enhance the wellbeing of residents through the use of external trees and plants, and to create a flagship for the regeneration of this part of City Road.
This really is a ‘first of its kind’ project for Cardiff, and for Wales. We want to build a development that is going to be an attractive addition to the street, that the local community can be proud of, as well as being a benefit to the environment.
The external walls will be brought to life with plants that, as they grow, will cascade over the building, softening its appearance and enhancing the local area. These new homes have been named the Cascade, as this perfectly describes the shape of the building and the role of the planting.
The public consultation will end on Thursday 3rd October and all comments and suggestions will be used to further develop our plans.
