The 870 Challenge - Moving Miles for Cystic Fibrosis
CF Warriors motivate, inspire and support children with Cystic Fibrosis on their journey to a longer, happier and healthier life.
The charity raises awareness of the benefits of sport & exercise to the whole CF community across the globe, through events and the publication of research funded by the charity.
When the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic began, we needed to think of new ways to raise money for this fantastic charity.
So, we’re taking on a pretty big challenge.
Inspired by the Wales Coastal Path, our colleagues are aiming to cover 870 miles to raise £870.
At a time when exercise and fresh air are proving to be vital for our wellbeing, we thought now would be the perfect time for a physical challenge in the great outdoors. (In our local area of course!)
Colleagues have been walking, running and cycling, individually achieving distances up to 20 miles! Every mile they cover counts and helps us to achieve our goal.
With the kids at home at the moment, we’ve been keen to find activities the whole family can get involved in. Did you know that 8 minutes on a trampoline is the equivalent of 1 mile? Or that half hour of dancing during your home disco is 2 miles worth of exercise?
When staff cover their chosen mileage, they are making a donation to our charity and tagging a colleague to take on the challenge.
So far, as one big Linc team we have travelled enough mileage to take us round the top of North Wales, so we’re well on our way to completing our journey around the Wales Coastal Path.
Stay tuned to find out how far we travel and how much we raise for this wonderful charity.
